ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL—BIG Kaiser Precision Tooling Inc. is pleased to introduce its newest Speroni benchtop presetter to the market. The MAGIS is an ergonomically designed system that has the following standard features included: Integrated Calibration Master, Pneumatic Axis Locks, X and Z Axis Fine Adjust, CCD Camera, and Integral ISO 50 Taper Spindle with Pneumatic spindle brake. The single-screen control is user-friendly and available with optional touch screen technology, for accurate tool measuring in minutes.

Like all Speroni presetters, the MAGIS is fully constructed of aged pearlitic cast iron, guaranteeing the best thermal stability. The structures are thermo-balanced and artificially aged to ensure the equipment is fully isostatic and will not deform or distort over time or temperature change.

The Speroni MAGIS has a standard X axis range of -2.00 inches (50mm) to +14.00 inches (350mm) and is available in three column sizes, with 16-inch (400mm), 20-inch (500mm), and 24-inch (600mm) travel in the Z axis, to fit any company's tool measurement and presetting needs.

The unit comes standard with a Pneumatic Spindle Brake system which allows the operator to lock the spindle at any point in the 360-degree rotation, guaranteeing the correct stable positioning of the tool for its measurement and/or during the preset mode.

The unit also comes standard with an Episcopy Front Ring Light system that provides a light source for manual inspection of the tool tip/insert on the vision screen. The system is complete with a variable adjustment knob for the proper inspection of the different types of coated inserts.

The MAGIS also comes standard with fine adjustment hand wheels that allow for micron precise smooth adjustments of both X and Z axis throughout the system’s range of travel.
